dreary day here back in socal. had the opportunity to visit Calder- all things considered, not a bad place to watch a race or two. will be playing a couple of races at hollywood- here goes.
race 2: meetmeatthegrill. this one's going to be the chalk, but the rumor is this one can run run run. wouldn't take less than the 2/1 m/l, but he'll show a lot of speed and speed kills in 2 yo maiden sprints. would also use the outside i'm awesome again in the exacta and try to bet likely second choice, eventfull out of the exacta.
race 3: lago maggiore. not the best post for this type of race, as he's parked on the far outside, but think this swiss yodeler colt can run for the steinmann/harrington team. we've seen plenty of yodeler's hit the ground running and this field looks a bit cheap. i'd also give firstship a look in his second start for cowboy jack van berg.
race 5: stretch out play of the day- m/l favorite single all all- has all the looks of a horse that will love to go two turns relaxing on the engine for flores. no value, but looks like the winner
race 6: Ran for the dough. should get a real nice price on this daughter of bertrando making her turf debut. speed and fade in her last, she should be front and center from the get go here and speed horses have done well of late on the hp turf course.
race 8: miss double dots. another stretch out candidate off the claim for mitchell. been given time off and should come out running in the finale.
